Splashing Holiday Success
Splashes, music, and plenty of smiles set the scene at Makino Aquatic Centre’s Easter Pool Party, with 200 attendees turning out for a high-energy day of holiday fun.
Held on 10 April, the event saw a steady stream of visitors, with queues at the front counter and the complex quickly filling with families ready to make the most of a fun, low-cost day out. Inside, the atmosphere was lively, with full tables, music pumping, and children moving between a range of activities.
From the inflatable obstacle course and giant beach balls to the splash pad and outdoor slip and slide, there was no shortage of entertainment. A special visit from the Easter Bunny added to the excitement, delighting younger attendees.
Aquatic Programmes Leader Renee Dunbar, who organised the event, said it was rewarding to see the community come together, with so many happy children enjoying the day.
“It’s always great to see so many families enjoying the space. Events like this are what the holidays are all about.”
The event also provided an opportunity for local holiday programmes to bring groups along, supporting safe and engaging activities for children during the break.
Beyond the fun, the day highlighted Makino Aquatic Centre’s role as a valued community space where people can stay active and socialise close to home.
