Country meets school holiday fun at Makino
Get ready for two weeks of splashes, smiles and rural-themed fun as Makino Aquatic Centre (MAC) goes country these school holidays.
From water activities to creative challenges and poolside crafts, Makino's September holiday programme is packed with opportunities for children to learn, laugh and make memories and kicks off on 28 September.
Children can tackle the giant AquaRun, attend easy-to-learn snorkelling sessions, sharpen their swimming skills in clinics, build and test their own boats, discover important water safety skills and even experience a day in the life of a lifeguard.
For Renee, the best part is watching children grow in confidence while having a fun holiday experience. "School holidays are all about getting active, trying new things and creating memories that children will talk about long after the holidays are over," she said.
"We have designed a programme with something for everyone. Some children love the challenge of the AquaRun, others enjoy getting creative or developing their swimming skills, and many come back each school holidays because they have made friends and had so much fun."
Adding to the excitement is Makino's rural reception display embracing Feilding and District Promotion’s Rural Month, while creating an environment where families feel welcomed from the moment they walk through the doors.
The highlight of these school holidays will be the Makino Rural Disco on Friday 9 October, from 3.30pm to 6.30pm, following the annual Feilding Rural Day celebrations in town from 10.00am. The indoor pool will host music, games, swimming and plenty of country-themed fun.
"The Rural Disco is always a great way to end the holidays together." Renee said.
With limited spaces available for some activities, families are encouraged to book early to avoid missing out.
