Families are encouraged to take advantage of a special Swim School winter promotion, offering the final five weeks of term for just $50 at the Makino Aquatic Centre.
The promotion begins from the week of 2 June and aims to encourage children to build confidence and water safety skills before summer arrives.
Aquatics Activity Leader Catherine Todd says winter is the ideal time for families to begin swimming lessons. “This promotion is a great way to get children started in lessons and not wait until just before summertime to begin. It takes time to see the benefits of lessons, including swimming confidently and improving water safety skills. If you have been thinking about lessons, now is the opportunity.”
The Swim School includes programmes for babies and toddlers through to school-aged children and offers swim assessments. Swimming with babies and toddlers can also support confidence, trust, communication and physical development of the child.
Makino Aquatic Centre recommends babies are at least six months old before entering a public swimming pool and reminds caregivers that children must always remain within arm’s reach.
Enrolments for the promotion must be completed in person at the Makino Aquatic Centre and are subject to class availability.
