Cool Off & Soak Up the Fun!
Summer Bash is a brand new, family friendly event that will be adding extra fun to the summer season in the Manawatū District. Held on Thursday 22 January from 5:30pm to 7:00pm, the event invites families, friends, and visitors to enjoy pool and lawn inflatables, lawn games, volleyball, music, food, and giveaways in a lively outdoor setting.
“Because this is our very first Summer Bash, we’re pulling out all the stops,” says Renee Dunbar, Aquatic Programmes Leader at the Makino Aquatic Centre. “We want people to walk in, and enjoy an evening full of fun, laughter, and summer vibes. It’s a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and make the most of these warm evenings.”
For just $12 per person, attendees will enjoy pool entry along with a sausage, popcorn, and a drink, making it an affordable option for families looking for local summertime entertainment. Spectators can enter for free or choose a $6 spectator option that includes food and a drink.
Children who complete the Manawatū Community Hub Libraries Dive into Reading Summer Reading Programme will be treated to free entry to the Summer Bash, along with food and drink. Sign up to the summer reading programme is still available if you would like to take advantage of this opportunity.
“This is a feel-good event where everyone can enjoy summer their way splashing in the pool, relaxing on the lawn, playing games, or soaking up the music,” says Renee.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.makino.co.nz/ticketing.
Let’s celebrate summer together!
