Brand New Inflatable Obstacle Course Boosts School Holiday Fun
Aquarun, the latest inflatable to fill the Makino Aquatic Centre 25m pool was unveiled in time for the July school holidays and it's already a hit with local families.
Catherine Todd, Aquatics Activity Leader at the Makino Aquatic centre is very excited by the connectable elements that create a unique course with challenging obstacles before finishing with a rope swing. The Aquarun is fully sealed for safety and durability.
“We wanted to provide something exciting and active for children during the holidays, and the Aquarun has really captured their enthusiasm,” said Catherine. “It encourages physical activity, builds confidence in the water, and most importantly, it’s a lot of fun.”
While the Aquarun often sees participants slipping off early and returning to the back of the queue, the added challenge seems to heighten the excitement and determination among competitors of all ages, including adults! Also, use of the Aquarun is included in general admission of the Makino.
During the holidays the Makino team went a step further by setting up both of their inflatables in the indoor 25-metre pool. With two distinct obstacle courses available, children were able to challenge themselves in new ways and enjoy friendly competition.
“This is more than just a fun activity,” added Catherine. “It’s about building confidence in the water, encouraging active play, and bringing families together in a safe, supportive environment.”
Makino Aquatic Centre staff are delighted with the public response and look forward to offering the Aquarun as part of their regular programming beyond the school holiday period.
