Makino Swim School Levels Up
From first splashes to confident swimmers, Makino Aquatic Centre’s Swim School continues to deliver high-quality lessons for local families and now it has a fresh new look to match.
As part of its ongoing commitment to providing an engaging experience, the Swim School has introduced updated branding, recently featured in the What’s On booklet. The new design brings a clean, contemporary feel and is now reflected across staff uniforms, and signage.
Aquatics Activity Leader Catherine Todd says the team is really happy with the new branding. “We are proud of our Swim School and the awesome team behind it. Everyone genuinely cares about each child’s swimming journey, and we have built a solid reputation for delivering quality lessons. This new branding shows who we are and what we do. It also helps families and the wider community recognise us more easily.”
Makino Swim School caters for up to 900 pupils, from babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children, with a strong focus on building water confidence, developing skills, and teaching essential safety techniques. With hundreds of students participating each year, the programme plays a key role in supporting lifelong water safety in the community.
Families can enrol online or visit the Makino for support, with free swim assessments available to help place children in the right level. While the term is already underway, limited spaces may still be available depending on class capacity.
The refreshed branding was developed in-house by the Manawatū District Council and compliments a Dolphin, the Makino’s playful mascot, who helps create a fun and friendly atmosphere.
This latest update demonstrates the Makino Aquatic Centre’s continued focus on improving both the experience and quality of its programmes ensuring local families have access to swim education that is both enjoyable and essential.
