June 2016 Redevelopment Update

Makino Aquatic Centre (MAC) contractors Colspec have been working hard to meet our target of opening the upgraded complex by the end of July.

MAC staff have spent the short period of time the complex has been closed to the public to be upskilled and upgrade some of the outdoor facilities. New staff have been appointed after a recruitment drive and are eager for the new complex to open.

Several weeks ago the indoor complex became fully enclosed after the new learner's pool was constructed.  Many other traders are now on site such as the plumbers and tillers working on the upgraded change facilities, electricians and carpenters.

A new asset for the complex is the purchase of hoist equipment allowing great accessibility for all users.  We are thankful for the sponsors who enabled the purchase of the equipment.

We are excited and looking forward to the new complex reopening and welcoming back our customers
